What a great success! 
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, paddled and/or participated. 
Thank you to all of the homeowners on Lower Aetna Lake for putting up your lights
and leaving out refreshments.
Medford Lakes is such a wonderful community!
It was fun and it was a great fundraiser.

The icing on the cake - both Charlie Haughey and Hunter Brooks were able to attend!

Rules -

Children

1) All children 17 and under (to 5), MUST have parental consent (signed on registration form, and again on the waiver).

2) children 5-11 must be paddling with tandem with an adult, 1:1 (child:adult) ratio, and must be wearing a PFD (personal flotation device), Type I, II, III or V approved by either the US Coast Guard or the state in which the event is being held.

(3) children 12-17 must either wear a PFD while on the water, OR, IF they pass Dave Mayo’s swim test (what he uses for Canoe Carnival), have it in the boat. All must have a whistle.

(4) all children 15 and under must be off the water from dusk till dawn (8pm-7am)

5) children 16-17 can paddle after dark with PFD’s on, but not for longer than an hour-

 

Adults-

1)      no alcoholic beverages/mind altering drugs prior to and/or during the event

2)      must have a PFD (see above qualification for PFD) on boat (one per person) and a whistle. Non-swimmers MUST wear their PFD

3)      after dark EVERYONE must wear a PFD

4)      after dark everyone must either wear a headlamp or have a flashlight attached to the boat. Lights must be on for the duration of darkness.

5)      Unnecessary noise must be kept at a minimum

 

Lifeguards will be stationed at Beach 1 from 5pm until children are off the water, and then from 7am until they normally leave on Saturday. 

 

Port o’ pots-

One will be placed at area 2, an additional one at Beach 1, and Vaughan will be open for bathrooms ONLY after dark.
